My biggest question is if we don't hire for a year or longer during this restructuring could I be stuck on the 75 for 4-5 years? 1 year already+ 1-2 years for bid allowing me to actually move+ 1-2 years to go to training. Are all the upcoming bids going to be a crap shoot like this one with the closures and not hiring? I bid the 75 so I wouldn't have a seat lock...
Sorry you haven't gotten a lot of constructive replies. That 4-5 year timeline is probably a bit long IMO. Next bid is "spring 2024", assuming they train this one out fully. I know the company plays hardball with training slots (see: 2020 and 2021 bidders to the 777), but the 767 transition course is usually the "quick" way off the 757 and you could be there summer 2024. I get it's an adjustment in expectations. I was hired about the same time as you.
