To be fair, new hires have no clue about pairings or even profit sharing lol. Bases, yes, that’s a critical component. But the reality is legacies offer more career expectations, and they’re literally handing out jobs like candy. There is no real standards or quals anymore. Interviews are a joke compared to the past. JetBlue is a good job, but why come here when you can work at Delta. It’s an unprecedented era in aviation that we’ll probably never see again. It’s not gonna last forever though.
I think many/most new hires know about profit sharing and look into pairing constructions in their preferred bases. They at least read these boards to get a feel. I sure did.
