Before the big shift of NB CA slots to the center of the country last fall (to IAH, DEN, and I think ORD), the company tried to grow the LAX 737 base to around 315 crews. SFO 737 was actually aiming for less at about 300. I think the vacancy that closed the other week had LAX 737 at a little over 200 crews and SFO around 165. So, all that shrinkage has mostly choked off the flow of NB new hires and hurt the seniority of those who remain. The Bus base in LAX was not very big to begin with, but I imagine it is not so junior anymore. I suspect the 756 is probably the most junior fleet in LAX right now by a large margin. It may take a while before LAX seniority trends back towards where it was, and it may not ever get all the way back. I'd no longer call LAX a junior base.
So far as I know, T9 is still going to happen. Probably before the 2028 Olympics but not starting before they finish the new people mover.
