I also think DALPA has way too many people using FPL, consistently way more than other MECs, often by a magnitude. DALPA has always been a country club and a less than stellar steward of our dues money. So I have little tolerance for them saying they can't afford things like contract compliance. If the ACE app isn't working (and a 6+ month backlog means it isn't working), then it's time to try something else. I know other MECs don't have a 6 month grievance backlog.
I think it was stated that whatever date the ACE app says it is working on is the VERY oldest case. I have had some get addressed in a few weeks and some in a few months. I think as long as I get paid I don’t care too much if it is right away or not (would be nice). Additionally when the new reroute rules go into effect on August 1, the ability to know immediately if you are due will make compliance and verification of compliance magnitudes easier. IOW rerouted - paid at 1.5 or 2x period. No need to check for how long a leg soaked or didn’t soak in open time. No need for special access to see when legs were assigned or available to be assigned etc. The MEC is also asking the scheduling team do do extra ALPA days this summer to clear out the backlog as the new rules become effective.
