that's kinda my situation also. Although I was JS on United the other day and the 1 yr FO was just awarded 787 instructor. so he flys the 787 1 trip a month then instructs the rest of the time. I would consider that if I lived closer to Stapleton.
I'm sure we'd solve the instructor problem if they would allow line guys to instruct.

Definitely. Keep our instructors for initial/upgrade sim. Outsource everything else to line guys. Eventually you should have it all done by line pilots but not sure how that’d work with an instructor cba/union.
