Our instructors are union employees with their own bargaining agent operating under their own contract. Personally, I won’t pontificate about taking another union employee’s job. If we want line pilots to be instructors (like they are at most other companies) than SWAPA and the instructors union, along with the company would have to execute a ‘merger’ of sorts with SWAPA as the surviving bargaining agent. AND offer those who are medically qualified some sort of integration into the pilot seniority list if they so desire.
