I mean, I don't know what else anyone thinks the "one" in D1 is for?? If your definition for "IFC" is "Crazy rich Asians" or Etihad's A380 suites, then fine. Weird flex, but fine. Obviously no US airline has that. But I guarantee you all our "High Value Customers" think Delta One is a better-than-FC product, not 'biz'. And I guarantee you our Premium Sales Team doesn't call it "biz". They, and we, call it D1, or First.
But whatever, I'm not here to argue, only to add what sure seems/seemed like a misperception about another airline's policy as it relates to your negotiations. I'll go back to lurking now. Good Luck. I genuinely hope you knock it out of the park, and leave our contract in the dust.
I really don’t understand what we’re even debating here. Of course AA requires a lie flat biz or first class seat for long haul DH. Let’s put this to bed once and for all for Christ’s Sake. Here’s the language straight from our contract.
International Deadhead
Pilots who are scheduled to deadhead on transoceanic international flights, on flights to or from Hawaii and Alaska, and on flights south of the equator will be provided business class accommodations (or first- class accommodations if the aircraft is not configured with business class). If a pilot scheduled to deadhead to base on the last leg of a sequence chooses to deviate from the scheduled deadhead in order to deadhead to the pilot's residence or designated city, business class accommodations will be provided, if available at the time of booking.
