DFW-LAX is currently twice a day with a bunch of AA flights that usually have jumpseat available (all airbus). In June, DL will start DAL to LAX 3 times a day and that would help a lot if DAL is convenient for you. My unscientific observation of going to ATL in the past is that there are far fewer Pilot and FA commuters at DAL in comparison to DFW. Not sure if more people live on the Fort Worth side of town of why else that would be, but it seems to be a thing.

Whether LAX would work for you depends on your seniority in seat. Most junior trips (at least on the airbus) follow a pattern of a red eye to the east coast on day one and arriving back on day 4 at 10pm ish. This will allow you to commute same day on the front end and catch an AA red eye to DFW on the back end that arrives at 5am central time. These trips rarely credit more than 22 so you’ll probably need to do 4 in a month so it gets old really quick, despite never needing hotels or crash pads and it being a fairly time efficient commute. Once you are more senior and can get into the Hawaii trips it would probably work better. Also, the gain in time zone going to pacific time, means that the first DFW flight of the day gets you into LAX just after 7am, increasing the number of trips that are same day commute friendly.

IMHO, it beats the hell out of dealing with NYC and at least on the bus, is fairly similar in seniority (currently).
