The 190s aren’t going away as fast as we all think they are. The 220 has engine problems and because of that engines are hard to come by. I was just reading an article that some small carriers who only operate a few of them as that’s all they have for a fleet are grounded. They don’t have engines to replace because there aren’t any. The PW1500 is the only option for that airplane so that whole program lives or dies on PW. If I were Airbus I’d be figuring out a way to maybe get a version of the CFM leap on that plane
FWIW, I flew with the 190 fleet captain a few weeks ago and he said the current plan is to retire one every three weeks starting in June, with the last 190 exiting the fleet in June 2025. I agree issues with the 220 make this all subject to change but that's the latest from the top.
