I live in base. On reserve days when I’m not used, it didn’t feel like a work day. My phone never rang. I won’t call that an official day off. But I didn’t work that day either. Did all the usual stuff taking kids to school, pickup, drop off, etc
Look, go to Delta. You’re gonna be disappointed when you see that life isn’t that much better. A newhire buddy of mine got ATL 737 FO. Guess what his ALV (avg line value) was? He’s ****ed, he said he’d rather be back at Endeavor where he flowed from.
Your buddy doesn't know what he's doing and youre running your mouth exaggerating for you own self gratification. I don't know a single Alaske turned Delta guy who wishes they were still there. One classmate of mine who was hired after me spent multiple months rolling thunder as a commuter getting paid to DH to and from work... As for myself?... I'm on the lowest paying fleet and if I keep going at my current pace I'll make almost as much as I did on 5th yr pre contract pay for half the block. That's assuming I don't take an upgrade that will literally pay my the same hourly rate on the RJ as what I would have gotten had I stayed and upgraded but yea you're right it's so much worse here.
