The majority of SW pilots I know are good people and generally happy being there. I know December was bad, but is the company really on a death spiral as some on here would have you believe? SWAPA absolutely crushes the company on social media. I know a lot of that is part of getting a new contract, but it’s tough not to read what they have to say and question a decision to come here.
I remember reading Delta threads before they got a contract and it was similar. Now it’s happy days at widget. I always thought of SW as great company, but I don’t want to go to a sinking ship.
No, it isn’t. I’m less than a year on property, I live in base, have weekends off, credit 110-115 without even trying, 15-16 days off per month. The flip side is first year pay is pretty bad and the duty days can get long. Being on reserve is a matter of when, not if. A new contract, work rules and other QOL improvements would make life better here. With that said, I have no intention on jumping ship. Most who do, have a desire to fly wide body long haul flights, not 3, 4 or 5 legs a day. I voted yes for the SAV.
