I would argue that most black pilots had a decent background or military background. I know there are some who truly had rags to riches stories, but the point is that I think it’s ignorant to assume that black pilots are coming from the hood.
Of course there are successful and wealthy blacks and Hispanics across the country. I never said there weren't. However, who is the company going after with the DEI push? Are they also getting poor white kids in addition to the underprivileged minorities from the poorer areas? I don't see any evidence of that. the DEI is to make minorities achieve the same and more than what society perceives whites have accomplished.
