You are better off not guessing and reacting to the actual assignment and occasionally that gets changed too. The design of the airport may be good but the use of it to serve the pilots, which is the ATC customer base, is terrible. Down to the refusing to use the new loop and the M2 BS. DEN is a much better design.
I disagree, I am team ATL (I’d avoid it only for the reroute potential). That place runs like a metronome. For the amount of volume they see it’s amazing how they move people and planes through that place. I’m not really burdened by changing approaches. It’s maybe 15 seconds to adjust the minimums, load the box and change the ILS frequency then brief the changes.
compared to somewhere like Charlotte or Ohare it’s way simpler and less confusing.
kennedy has been a nightmare getting in and out of terminal 4 recently and has a way higher chance of a taxi/runway violation imho.
I guess a lot of it depends on what you’re used to/familiar with.
