I’d argue it’s a numbers thing. If you have LC, you can depart LB, and LA without rerunning the numbers as opposed to the opposite. Same with M2.
I get that, still wouldn’t have to actually use LC. Always thought M2 was to allow for easier/safer crossings behind departures. Just don’t see the benefit on the other end of the pavement. Nobody crossing down there.
Anyone remember the flaps 0 “increased performance” DC-9/MadDog takeoffs? Heavy widebody?
