There are a shortage of medical specialists. You know that because when you try to make an appointment, they can’t see you for weeks or months. But nobody is trying to reduce the qualifications or requirements to become a specialist in medicine.
For purposes of this illistration your point is well taken...however...the medical industry is a hot mess as well. While they arent outright reducing the requirements to become a doctor, they are reducing the qualifications of the individual you actually see. Using PA's etc to do encounters rather than doctors. Additionally, No compete clauses and the inability to unionize means physicians get screwed over majorly when it comes to work rules. I would not use them as an example to follow. This is coming from the spouse of a physician (seriously, could we have chosen two more difficult indistries!?)
