New or not, working around active volcanos and a radar screen that's all red and magenta going into Bogota at night with vectors through the worst of it is not the same as flying a regional into Cleveland. Crossing Condorcocha at 18,000 on the downwind into Quito at night with a volcano nearby and a riot at the airfield, surrounded by mountains, weather, unhelpful ATC, and a case of the runs,, isn't quite like doing the ILS to 27C in Chicago.

Clapped out airplanes or not, one ain't in Kansas, any more.
