As much as I hear some of these members of congress talking about how this is really going to help the regionals and how these experienced senior pilots are going to mentor and benefit the new pilots, I think they honestly imagine that these pilots are just going to go fly at the regionals for their extra two years. The house bill amendment has a paragraph about them not flying in places that have an age limit, and the "retro" element of it just states that anyone not yet 67 can go fly part 121 again if they want. I can't see anything in there that specifically states "you go back to your old spot." I think the idea that the congressmen have and the idea that the pilots have don't exactly line up.
