He has accomplished having to negotiate one contract over the span of 2, going from having to pay his pilots the most first, to maybe the same last, and attracting thousands of new hires for 2 years off words alone. Amazing. Delta basically lapped us as far as contract rules and pay are concerned. They will be negotiating a new contract over 2 years before ours will be due (if we ever get one) for any lurkers wondering where the best place to be over the next 10 + years as far as negotiated pay and qol it’s pretty simple. Kirby has been talking about how great this place will be to work for years now, because apparently it’s working. Any current pilot here or applicant that still has stars in their eyes about how awesome it’s going to be in a couple years because kirby’s promises is like a beaten spouse buying that, ‘it will get better baby, i promise.’ talk is cheap, and is saving kirby and united millions a month over his competitors. I just don’t appreciate being on the receiving end of such a relationship, to put it mildly.
