What I did was subscribe my Google calendar to the Apple calendar on my iPad (I don't use that calendar at all, other than for this). So now when I want to copy my schedule I do the calendar sync on Micrew on the iPad. This syncs your schedule to the Apple calendar, which the Google calendar then fetches and updates. You can then copy the calendar over just like before. Unfortunately there's no way to set the fetch schedule for Google to get the calendar. It just does it when it does it, so you'll have to wait a few hours or maybe overnight and then it will have magically shown up.
Thanks for the post on this. This worked for me!
