Yeah, those Delta pilots who aborted in JFK sure weren't seconds away from a mass casualty event. Or those near misses on approach...they didn't need to make quick decisions. Nope. Pilots don't need to make critical decisions in very short periods of time. Might as well be sitting in a office looking at spreadsheets. It's the same mental difficulty.
