Looks like OOBWS is the new raging debate. I highly recommend folks Contact their reps, or present a proposal at their local Council meeting if they seek changes.

​Overall OOBWS surfing is a special situation that not many pilots do because it requires a unique set of circumstances including:

1. Flexibility at home(Gunfighter accurately stated you are effectively on Short Call[but trips assigned are always a proffer])

2. Seniority(gotta be able to drop trips)

3. Live in or quick commute to a Delta base(s)

There's always loopholes in the system. Pilots are just as good as Management(Hello Scope) in finding loopholes. Close one and another will open. IMO, things might change drastically on how different "surfing" techniques are executed when Silver Slips come into play next Spring
