They vary enough that's hard to give an easy overview. Schedules were really bad in ANC (for commuters, anyway, lots of shows, lots of little stuffer trips) for a while, but I've heard they've gotten better recently. For a pretty junior guy in SDF, assuming I don't require certain days off, I can hold a line, although there aren't a lot of choices left when it gets down to me. Or a VTO, no problem. A Reserve still seems to go pretty junior, B Reserve quite a bit less so (I can't hold it, I tried).

I've been doing a LOT of SDF-CGN-SDF (or SDF-CGN-PHL-SDF). It seems like it always works out for me that there's one big trip (generally either SDF-CGN-HKG-DEL-CGN-SDF or similar or just keep going SDF-CGN-HKG-ANC-SDF) plus a couple of smaller trips, whether that be SDF-CGN-SDF or SDF-HNL-ONT-SDF or something similar). Once you get a little bit of seniority, you start getting the ability to conflict, which is nice, maybe bring the 14 days down to 12 or so.

That's just a snapshot for a guy bidding about 75% in base and seat and who lives in SDF. If you're a commuter or substantially junior or senior to that, I'm sure the picture is quite different. Even more so if you're ANC based.
