Instead of looking at specific pay rates, you need to look at total compensation package.
What you call fear is just plain cold facts. WAKE UP!
!!!YES!!!
Watching the roadshow video is reminiscent of during the riots the CNN reporter dude who is standing in front of the buildings that are on fire and burning to the ground while saying ‘These are fiery but mostly peaceful protests’. It’s like they are telling us these things that we can clearly see and read aren’t the reality of the contract - they think we are idiots.
Pat has 2+ years of his time invested in this negotiation - plus his unexplained infatuation with the pancake lite plan that nobody wants on property and suddenly it is in the TA … WTF?. So of course he is going to sell and spin it as hard as he can because he doesn’t want to admit he fell short of expectations.
The reality is that with the exception of getting the A Plan FAE raised for those on property at the expense of ending the A Plan for any future new hires this TA falls short in virtually every section that was opened - yet while they keep spinning these negatives and givebacks as positives I see burning buildings in the background.
total compensation package seems to be the new buzzwords these days … how they are calculating the value of this ‘compensation package’ would sure be interesting to see the math on that. All I know is half our pilots are going to be getting paid an hourly rate that is well below industry wages and when checks get deposited on the 1st and 15th of the month they are going to be significantly smaller then our counterparts at most other carriers. So this total compensation we are supposed to be enamored with sure isn’t going to feel like much of a bigger total compensation package compared to everyone else for at least half of our pilot group every time payday rolls around. That’s not fear tactics - that’s reality when someone’s hourly rate is $40 bucks less an hour than someone else’s … doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out - and just ignore the burning buildings in the background … they don’t mean anything.
