It is not acceptable to keep the company's problems a secret in order to help recruiting and retention efforts. WG had a pilot shortage LONG BEFORE the current financial crisis due to low pilot pay, pathetic travel and a dysfunctional management team focused on destroying ALPA. It's gotten worse since half of the fleet was parked and WG started defaulting on its obligations due to ESOP debt servicing. Most pilots remaining at WG are smart enough to understand that the company is avoiding certain airports right now because of unpaid bills and the threat of aircraft impoundment, but those considering a job at WG need to know these facts.
Don't worry, I think there are still enough desperate pilots in Curaçao who are willing to take a foreign pilot contract position at WG.
