Ever been in and out of ORD during wx like this? Zero change. There has to be a tornado on top of the field for them to start panicking. There’s one SID and the controllers take it from there. Best in the business, and no I don’t live or work in ORD just calling it like I see it.
I’m not saying ORD controllers aren’t good. They are. They’re great. However, there’s huge difference in the airspace. EWR is way more geographically difficult due to an ocean, other major cities and major airports, etc. ORD is a huge operation but it’s basically surrounded by nothing. Tons of room to deviate from the standard without disrupting other major airports and airspace.
