As a matter of fact, I spoke to another who called me on my days off to ask what I thought. He was a previous "NO" vote and told me he had changed his mind. He's a young guy with two years on the property.....been at two other airlines....
Most yes votes will be quiet at this point because of the shrill verbal harangues on places like here and others, with name-calling, character assassinations, and wild accusations of pay-offs instead of staying with a thoughtful line of serious debate. As a matter of fact, I voted yes on the contract that many were hired under and were "Thrilled to be here" (Though I did not like that either)....I am one of the only guys I know that admit to voting "YES" in 2015.
You can characterize me anyway you want....I've been called a number of things for the past 8 years because of that...Including a "NO" voter back then (one of my best friends who has never voted "YES" on anything here)....who was originally "NO", but is no "YES".....I will have to live under this TA possibly for the next 9 years, however we negotiate again in 3.5years and no doubt the enthusiastic "NO" voters who have a plan, and want to get involved, will have yet another opportunity to shape their future then......I suspect to re-open all of the contract will likely take about as long. Hopefully whomever has volunteered to be on the "New NC and MEC" will put their names out now so we can support them when we go back into serious negotiations in 2027 one way or another.....Has anyone volunteered to run for MEC Chairman, block rep, or interested in the job of NC?
Go ahead and kick that can down the road! What will you be willing to give up next? Better believe they will come for more. Eventually we will have nothing else to give.
