1. Guaranteed pay is consistent and paid every paycheck of every year. DSA is assuming you don’t need to use DSA.
2. As you pointed out above, how many FedEx pilots have excess DSA? Takes over 9.5 years of not using Sick Bank to exceed the limit. Benefits only the senior pilots, further dividing the union.
3. Delta DC goes to %17 then %18. So wrong % used in my post, so the FedEx is only a little less deficient.
4. Delta’s DC contribution is not capped. PM & FedEx ALPA slogan just a short time ago was “EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS“. When did this change of heart come about?
Logic fail. Both CoC and DSA are paid at end of the year. But one is every year the IRS limit is exceeded. The other is an incentive to fly sick.
DC is at risk for both companies. MBCBP is guaranteed at both companies. Only guarantee with MBCBP is you will be paid what you put in. If trust loses money (not realistic), pilots only get what was put into the MBCBP in their name. So the guarantee is as comforting as putting money in your mattress. And investment is much more conservative.
Got me there! Thought it went to %20. As stated above, Delta pilots still have more $ put into retirement.
I’m not on AFB making PP slides engaged in a sales pitch. Just someone who has run the numbers. I admit if I make a mistake, see above.
I pay similar dues as you. I can disagree with assumptions the union makes. ALPA is selling and I’m disagreeing (respectfully) without emotional outbursts and misleading statements. I’ve backed up my position.
So, you won't count the maxed out DB bank payments, but are using CoC, even though 75% of the pay rates at Delta won't get you CoC unless you work extra. And that is including their 777 rates, a plane they no longer fly. You can make up sick that you use. Talk about cherry picking.
You are the one who said it was a FACT that Delta's retirement plan was better than ours. I think that is your opinion, but definitely not a fact.
Your questions and this debate are making me question my vote. Maybe this TA isn't as bad as I thought. Thank you!
