Why would anyone already here care about street captain? At least to me, it's obviously targeting guys who grudgingly went to DL/AA but live in a UAL domicile and have the type/experience who would make the switch if they could pin CA.
Ultimately, anyone currently on the list can and will jump ahead of those guys, so I don't see why it's a threat. They will be on the bottom of reserve forever. Furthermore, because of the pipeline, anyone who was on the fence who wanted to bid CA can do so before any DEC type hires get activated.
It’s not a threat. Just an attempt to draw from the bottom rather than the top. Drawing from the top would require greater incentives to get current FOs to bid NBCA- drawing from the bottom only requires making it available to more people. Essentially street captains takes pressure off the company to make the position more enticing to those higher on the seniority list.
