Commuting is an “option” this industry allows. It’s a good benefit that we even have the ability to exercise it. What you mean to say is that commuting is not a choice for you and your family. For some commuting is not an option because we have no interest in doing it ever again. I advise all my friends retiring from the military to do the following:

If momma is cool moving to base, move to base.
If momma doesn’t wanna move to base, don’t move to base. Better to commute home to a happy wife than to drive home to an unhappy wife.

Hopefully this doesn’t make me an A-hole,B-hole or any other type of hole. Now back to actual contract talk.
