Soon we’ll see the actual language and have to decide if it it meets our requirements. If it does, what does the future look like for ALPA? What does unity look like?
There needs to be deep dive to examine how an MEC went so far off the rails. More importantly, we need to understand how such a disconnect existed between the MEC and membership.
That should have never happened and it’s up to each of us to NEVER let it happen again.
Those pilots who failed us should wear the scarlet letters they deserve, but I hope the more effective lesson is line pilots must stay engaged, not just when we’re negotiating.
Racism? Dude..focus. That’s a red herring and a pile of crap. No deep dive needed. We showed the toddlers the door, and elected reps that cared about the membership ahead of their own selfish interests(Alpa presidential campaign). Pretty simple. As far as staying engaged, I agree with you there.
