Happens all the time on older aircraft like the 73N, 757 and 717. Some older planes, even with a working APU, have inadequate airflow on the ground for extended taxi in high temps. 717 was like a sauna in Summer time. Combine that with record heat in Vegas and an unexpectedly long taxi out and problems like this arise.
