the biggest advocates for 67 at my air line tend to be those that should be able to retire very comfortably, but simply don’t want to hang up their hat. There are definitely plenty this job has kicked repeatedly with furloughs, airlines going out of business, being stapled ect. And those are the ones I feel for and would be more sympathetic for them wanting 67. Yet the people I fly with who want to see 67 the most seem to be those hired at DL or NW in their late 20s or early 30s, never furloughed, have a frozen pension or PBGC payment of some value, and spent the majority of their career in the left seat.

the DL pilot in question was hired in 1987 at NW at 25 years old and by my understanding of when furloughs happened was never furloughed. He also probably could have held the left seat since the late 90s (NW pilots can tell me if this is accurate) and WB CA for the past 5 or so years. He will retire in the top 5. Not exactly who you think of when you think “boy this career really screwed that guy”
