Default No more NWA?

Obviously the Delta/NWA merger is quite the hot topic and to a fairly new guy in the industry a lot of these threads are a bit to technical to understand for my experience level. I wanted to first off say that I really hope this whole merger movement is a positive thing and the negative impacts on pilots of all groups are minimal. But what I really wanted to say was that aside from all the technical things that go along with this merger nobody really seems to point out an interesting change that "the Northwest Airlines" that was once a "legacy" is no longer. That is the way I take this whole thing. When all is said and done the name NWA will be a thing of the past. It's kind of sad actually. I could see if they merged the names or something but one day in the future I could be sitting there in a 747 that says Delta Airlines on and we'll be saying "hey this used to be a jet from that airline Northwest. Merger or not it almost seems like Delta "purchased" Northwest. However you look at it I think it will be weird to see a 747-400 painted in Delta colors. Hopefully this will not offend anyone or isn't too bold. It's just how some of us regional guys that aren't yet directly affected by the merger. Goodluck to everyone!
