I have done a search, but with the sheer amount of posts, struggling to find a current answer to the question. Of the majors with Chicago bases, what is the possibility of getting that assignment right away, or within a year? Looking at United, American, and Southwest particularly. I know things are contentious at Southwest right now, but it is still on the radar. I have a few months before I can decide if I'm going to jump back into the airline thing, but I want to have a realistic viewpoint of the potential to be home-based when I discuss with with my family.
