All I know is my friends flying the exact same airplane at United, Delta, AA that I fly at FDX will be getting more $$$ deposited into their bank accounts every month than I will be. You can tell me that my retirement that I am not even guaranteed to collect in the future and my vacation (that I am not even maxed out on yet) and don’t get paid for it regardless counts as compensation, but what I care about is how much am I earning each month … that to me is ‘Real’ compensation that matters since it’s what’s putting food on the table and paying the bills today, and not many years from now.
