No smart guy … after doing research on what others have been paying for similar vehicles I make an offer, and if they don’t take it I walk - If they accept it I pay cash. You might be surprised at how effective saying thanks but no thanks and heading towards the door quickly changes their tune.
A smart person will ask: How much am I paying.
An uninformed person asks: What will my monthly payments be.
