Can't speak for all fleets here, but at least on the -88, 767-400, and Airbus, 'clicking them off' is encouraged as a proficiency item. Frankly, we ought to be doing it more, such that gusty conditions doesn't turn out potentially bad, but rather just another landing. You know, pilot ****.
