I could maybe get on board with that if there were any fiscal conservatism left in the Republican Party, but the last decade has simply seen wanton spending across the political spectrum. Ds want to take your $ and give it to the poor, Rs want to give it to the rich. If that feels like a bad deal, you’re not wrong; although unless you’re an outlier among airline pilots, I can assure you you’re a lot closer to poor than rich.

I don’t blame Rs for the massive spending that took place through COVID, since Ds would have done the same thing. But after those unprecedented deficits & a global economic shutdown, anyone who thinks the economy just magically tanked in 2021 the minute a democratic president w/ a razor-thin senate majority took office is living in a very controlled bubble.
