Considering that most agree that this is going to pass, how does ALPA and the company deal with the scheduling problems that it creates if the rest of the world doesn’t immediately follow? Do we pass a LOA saying that pilots are to be removed from a pairing without pay if they can’t legally fly it?
1) It's unlikely that ICAO doesn't immediately raise retirement age, especially since IATA has already been lobbying ICAO to do so. From what I've seen, ICAO's been planning to raise the age since at least 2019; they just need an impetus to do so. I'd say the US raising retirement age is the exact event that will make ti so.
2) Why would we pass an LOA?
