Joe and Jane Sixpack don't like when their flights are delayed or cancelled. They see plenty of news articles stating that there's a pilot shortage and that commercial pilots can't fly past 65. A quick solution? Raise retirement age.
Oh wait, that's not safe! But 65 is safe? If we were really that serious about being safe, we'd lower pilot retirement age to 50 because there's a huge spike in pilot cardiovascular events between 50 and 60. Ironically, those events decline in the 60-65 population of pilots. Maybe ground all pilots between 50 and 60? (since we're going down a silly safety rebbit hole).
