I think SWA managements real problem is their current applicant pool. The hack apparently exposed they have about 3,000 applications on file. But what’s more alarming is how many are actually legit? I still have an application with you guys on file but obviously won’t be applying during the open dates. I bet most the pilots back in my new hire class at Delta last year still have an application on file at SWA.

I believe the statement made above that maybe a couple hundred applicants are actually applying to SWA regularly. I just read in another thread of a regional FO who hit 501 hours turbine time (your current minimums) and he got an interview and next day job offer after the interview.

The information I’ve gathered tells me your leverage is the applicant pool drying up to nothing. At this point nobody wants to work for SWA.

What part is scary to you? Those individuals ability to fly the plane? Or the decrease in your value if your replaceable by the 0 turbine RATP pilot?

My previous carrier (737 by the way) has been hiring 0 turbine guys for a couple years now. The ones that make it through training are pretty good to be honest. They don’t have that chip on their shoulders like some of the young RJ guys that think as soon as the legacy’s see my 737 type I’m outta here type guys have.
