I think the mco base is a great idea but you can't drastically shrink ewr 737 and then wonder why no one is around to pick up premium pay trips. The ewr chaos isn't new and isn't going away so how do you get bodies up there? Money or convenience via positive space commuting. They are already doing 90 hr lines, abusing captain reserves, and ruining good pairings with boston/rdu/atl turns on either end of an otherwise desirable trip which is making their staffing situation worse as everyone flees. The stick isn't working.
