This is exactly what management told our upgrade class. A single weather event could potentially shut down more than one base in FL.
MCI and STL have infrastructure and are well located.
The remaining terminal in MCI goes down by December.
They said that and then told us they were also considering AUS. I asked, “so a summer squall line taking out 3 bases is ok, but a hurricane taking out 2 isn’t….got it”.
No comment from the mgt clown.
Unless it’s a direct hit, you can still operate around hurricanes. Seems their plans of going south aren’t really plans at all.
