Delta has stopped metering, but I heard it was almost 6 months right after Covid. Admittedly you’d be better off at a AA WO regional. We’ve hired a lot of those pilots lately at Delta.

I haven’t read or heard anything on AA metering SkyWest pilots more than a month or two if that’s even true…

United doesn’t meter SkyWest pilots, they just don’t consider them for hire. United’s regional model, specifically for regional CA’s is imploding. It’s very rare to be hired by United if you come from a regional associated with United Express. The standards to get hired at United is insanely low atm. No college degree, no T-PIC, under 2,000 hours total time. You need to go to a competitor for United.

SkyWest is a great company to work for. I did enjoy my time and you’re treated significantly better than any other regional from an employer perspective, but in this current hiring environment I’d recommend you stay far far away from SkyWest. Unless of course you want to be a regional lifer.

My best advice would be to get hired at any ULCC ASAP. If you have to do a quick stop at SkyWest then so be it. T-PIC is not king anymore. Being at a competitor is king.
