In hindsight it’s clear from the April video that the NC only cared about those retiring soon. They were scared to even address scope with the company because they didn’t want to lose retirement improvements. They failed as fiduciaries because they prioritized the 8-10 pilots retiring each month for the next few months over the thousands that will be here for a full career or the ones that hadn’t even showed up yet.

Ironically, had they done a little bit more for junior pilots, and got the company to clarify scope concerns in writing, this would have passed. The way they and the MEC dug their heels in is unconscionable. The problems with the TA could have been addressed before sending it to the pilots to vote, saving us months of time. Now, here we are.
