Really depends on how much you plan to support their college education. I started saving in my state 529 for my kids college. So I wouldn’t think that would factor into my retirement decision much at all. (Eg it’s paid for)

If you haven’t started saving something for that, and you want to help them out, you should start now. If you are a parent that can “push them out of the nest” and tell them to do it on their own, it also wouldn’t factor into the retirement equation.

I have a hard time determining how much money I’ll need in retirement. The only answer I usually can come up with is “more is better”
