Houston is a tiny base for Spirit, second smallest behind ACY. Hobby has been a fortress for SWA for a long time, IAH for Spirit is a bit more flimsy with it being so tiny (100 FO/100 CA). Supposedly we are doubling in size though in IAH, we currently have 5 gates in the A terminal, but the base manager has been telling people we are getting 5 more gates in the D terminal when it is completed so a lot of potential growth. That's probably about 18 months away though. We also lease a maintenance hanger here, so the company has planted some roots for the time being. JetBlue has stated they want more Texas exposure and will keep the base post merger if approved, but it's really hard to say what things will look like after that.
