Right, as far as it being convenient, Mesa and CommuteAir have essentially the same bases. Same bases, same UAX system, and still in Aviate. If somebody stuck around for the flow into captain upgrade, they probably aren't gonna jump to Frontier or Skywest just because they have a DEN base. And it just so happens that CommuteAir has a $175,000 DEC bonus and Mesa has something similar. As somebody working for one of these regionals, the only captains left are diehard Aviate, Australian, or live in/around a United base and are unable to move/unwilling to commute. I really don't think that there would be a whole lot of loss on the CA side. Sure, a lot of FOs would leave, but they are a dime a dozen. United did this, again in a pilot shortage, to CommuteAir and ExpressJet only 3 years ago. I just don't see why they wouldn't try it again
