Heard very recently small system bid upcoming moving folks off MD, no hiring probably until at least 2025. We are overstaffed and company looking to use attrition to bring levels to lying pre covid. Just what I heard.
Rumors are definitely flying. While I don’t doubt there will be displacements off the MD on the next bid, I can’t see us shrinking back down to 28-2900 pilots. We may shrink as low as 3200 (think no hiring for another 18 months) if the slowdown in business continues, but I’m guessing that corporate still would like to grow into all of the jets we have coming over the next couple years. Our illustrious CEO would no doubt prefer to close out her five year tenure on a high note.
Personally I think the tables in our industry (flying) will continue to turn with eye popping speed. Enjoy the ride
