True, rarely deferred. And it cannot be deferred due to an out of date database; unless the MEL has changed. The 99 is probably the fleet that most consistently has GPS. I’ve flown a couple 1900s without GPS and got very proficient flying IMC from VOR-VOR. Some 1900s have the old KLN-90 unit. A lot of folks complain about the KLN, but it’s actually a nice piece of equipment once you learn the ins and outs.
